Reminder: if you miss the ZX81 and long for a DIY version to tinker with Z80 code (and CP/M - but that’s another story) you need to look up RC2014.

You don’t need to be a wizard with the soldering iron to build your own little 8-bit computer.

Fifteen year old you would be proud.

I'll be updating the PCB of my SID Soundchip Interface for #RC2014 & compatibles to match the style of my new SAA interface so it includes a little PCB computer of the #C64 where the SID is from! I've 3 of the original boards left so I'm offering £10 off them (Please message to...

Yeah that’s not really the way I use YouTube to be honest. I’m with you on the intro/outro framing it as show. I really curate my subs list and ruthlessly prune the watch history to keep the algorithm better trained - so almost every show I watch is deliberate, and so I do treat it like TV 📺😊☕️

If you're looking for video game books by the way, Pen and Sword have been doing incredible work in that field and don't really get the same credit as Bitmap or Read Only Memory. Well worth a look: www.pen-and-sword.co.uk/Gaming/c/357

Oh yeah I completely agree! I was just thinking of my subscribed channels like Lee and Adrian. When it comes to “help, my dishwasher is leaking!” I’m not watching that with a relaxing brew in Big Chair, ha!

Hahah, I’m the opposite. I make a fresh cup of tea for every episode and do watch most of them on Big Telly!

No no, everyone says that but they’re just really good at brown!

And always refer to the disks as 780K. The standard SAM format is 800K (20K for the directory, 780K for files) but you can technically use all the space and format extra tracks, as long as you have a sector of code (Track 4, Sector 1) with a routine for BOOT to load in to then do what you want.

This is the only "complete" crinoid in my collection, from holdfast to crown.

It's easy to see why they are sometimes called sea lilies, even though they are animals related to starfish and sand dollars.

This is Abatocrinus gallatinensis from the Mississippian Lodgepole Fm of MT.

That would be great. We Spectrum and SAM nerds could do with a re-stock too, please!

It's October 1st, which means that we now know how many ZX Spectrum games we need to review for Issue 3 of BreakSpace.
And it's...57. Fifty seven new games.

Will the team get them all done by deadline? Fingers crossed.

Meanwhile, Issue 2 is still fabulous and free at

Oh, yeah! I think that was my first too. Caught part of it on TV or something and then thought about it for YEARS until finally seeing it properly!
