wikipedia turns 25 today! the last unenshittified major website! backbone of online info! triumph of humanity! powered by urge of unpaid randos to correct each other! somehow mostly reliable! "good thing wikipedia works in practice, because it sure doesn't work in theory" - old wiki adage

Things are awful, so a little treat for the real Crush-Heads. It is now eleven years since I got this printed in the Metro.

Occasional reminder that you can, in fact, do whatever you want no matter what the calendar says. Very freeing.

It’s not a patch on the inimitable Complete Spectrum ROM Disassembly by Drs Logan and O’Hara, but it scores higher over that tome in two respects. First, the Guide is slightly cheaper; and second, it has the letters inscribed in large, friendly letters.
The Spectrum Machine Code Reference Guide: Microdrive Interface 1 Complete ROM Disassembly.

(Mince pie for scale. It’s a big book!)

It’s a page of nonsense to print off and colour in to keep a child busy while you cook or for you to have some calm crayons time. Merry Christmas!

Games shouldn't cost $100. Games should in fact cost £2, come on a cassette tape, only run on a 20kg computer that you could only buy in Britain in the 1980s, and be made over the course of six months by two 19 year-olds known only as "The Whizzy Brothers".

Last minute Christmas present for yourself? You know they'll just send you socks otherwise.

I've got two MicroBeast Z80 kits that can ship immediately. After that, further kits will be sent out after Christmas.

Honestly it's so easy to find real music made by real people that you can champion. Find a record label putting out music you like, find an artist on that label you enjoy, and then look at what bands are supporting them on tour and check out their music. It'll just keep spiralling from there.
