What’s the worst question someone can ask after you tell them your profession? For linguists, it’s definitely “how many languages do you speak?”, but I’m curious what else is happening to the rest of y’all out there?!

finished college in 2007, got receptionist job, realized i could not pay student loans AND rent, moved back in with parents in 2008. there were no jobs, fibally found retail job, stayed for 6.5 years. finally signed up w/temp agencey and took first job they had. still there 10 years later
