#LetterboxdFriday With an update to my Favorites (for the next 4 to 6 weeks). Recent watches include a doc, a feature-length visual essay and a pair of re-scored Buster Keaton shorts. Excited to explore more Buster Keaton and the next installment of Silents Synced.

#LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched This week, I'm definitely digging into my love and appreciation for drive-in and no budget movies. As the most recent is a Ray Dennis Steckler film, I'm on my third viewing of it as I'm just starting the second commentary from Ray himself.

Empathy - the ability to understand and share the feelings of another.

What do you call someone who is, by definition, anti Christ?

Two media docs in the middle of a 1970s cult classic and a 1990s indie film that deserves more recognition. The Joe Frank doc is also worth seeking out as well as Dana Gould's "Joe Frank" podcast episode.

Happy #LetterboxdFriday. Here is my #LastFourWatched, which are bookended by a movie that I didn't know was already on physical media and a video compilation that deserves more attention than VHS.

#LastFourWatched The most recent watch was a chore to fit on. It was simply a busy week and not a knock on the movie itself.

Most of the folks that will read this probably are already part of the Disc-Connected Patreon, but if not, I think it is well worth everything that Ryan and the good folks already there bring to it. So please check it out and consider supporting the Disc-Connected.
I cannot stress enough how important Ryan and Disc-Connected have been to us as a company and as a friend. He's supported us (and so many others) from our inception and it's time to give back. Please join his Patreon and help him keep doing what he's doing.

RIP David Lynch to one of the best. Simply love this photo and it was one of many things that stuck out amongst the flood of thoughts I have had since I found out the news.
I'm so sad to post this…

RIP to the legend of the Burbank Bob’s Big Boy, David Lynch! He understood LA better than anyone else.

Add Blood For Dracula, and these are my watches in the last week. Like Ms. 45, it was a re-watch on the big screen.

Perhaps someone at Wal-Mart is a fan of the Tom Waits' song "Frank's Wild Years"?
Phrasing, Walmart…phrasing. 😆

I finished Episode 6 of the @deafcrocodile.bsky.social podcast. The discussion on the uncertain state of film preservation should be required listening. Their ability to repeatedly introduce movies that I don't know even exist but come to love is the reason why they are my favorite Blu-Ray label.
