The best thing you can do if I'm your producer is communicate. Tell me what I'm doing that you like, tell me what I could be doing to make things easier for you, listen when I tell you how you can make things easier for me.

Remove the guesswork, and I will go out of my way to work with you again.

The cast/crew member that handles so much of the stress of streaming or recording & editing so that the GM can focus on running things and the players can engage with the story and the game.

It was surprising for me, a producer who was not performing, when I was asked to be included in the Safety Tools List. That was very cool.

At the end of the day, Producers are part of the table and they should feel safe too.

(3/4) I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the speech therapist. I've heard many similar stories and relatively few of speech therapists sensitive to the need to feel connected to your langauge and vernacular. That dissociation can be so isolating and we need to recognise that in healthcare.

(2/4) My memory doesn't begin until my early 20s, but given where I lived and how much dysphoria I had around the way I spoke and what words I could use, it seems very likely this was my experience.

Again, a similar story. Not uni as much but in primary and secondary schools here, that focus on "a certain English" is very present and you are taught to associate anybody not speaking it with low intelligence (outside of a couple of carefully chosen pieces of literature). (1/4)

so the ways the language exists around Scotland and how it shapes our culture and how we think of ourselves is of great interest to me - and that has expanded out into an interest in how language shapes people and vice versa more generally. (2/2)

Please don't worry - it's something you can't know until somebody tells you. It's also muddied by the fact that the vernacular in a lot of Scotland exists as a hybrid between Scots and Scottish Standard English (and exactly where on that spectrum your speech exists will change depending on context).

I will also add that Scots is a language with it's own dialects and vernacular forms, rather than a verncaular form of English in itself. Definitely some debate on which of these it should fit into, but I consider it a language and it is recognised by the EU and UNESCO as such.
