NES games are a special mix of immature (new and experimental!) game design, and immature ("haha imagine those kids dealing with this!") game design.

Really funny to see Mozilla square the circle with forcing AI junk features but still be vehemently opposed to the idea of even remotely letting power users have the most stripped down, sandboxed version of WebUSB.

Pretty surprised at how much of a difference a cheap headphone amp makes compared to onboard PC audio.

A lot of it might just be psychosomatic + mood - by the specs, it shouldn't matter to these cans - but remotely "loud" would crackle and hurt my ears before yet comes through nice and crisp now.

Is there a modern-day equivalent of Pixel2Life? Just a huge and dense curated list of user tutorials for creative apps (at the time, Photoshop) and simply the act of picking a random one and doing it would teach you a bunch of new skills. Plenty of video and image+text versions for each.

I wish that preservationist releases like the MK legacy kollection would put a much higher focus on input delay. It's as much, if not a higher level of importance the preserving the game feel of the original than even the original control schemes.

What if PC gaming, but with all the awful drawbacks of Windows, a UI and gaming experience designed after the worst app store application, and paid online that raises its price by over 35% YoY? Ah, and instead of subsidized hardware costs, they're _higher_ than the sum retail part costs. Oooof.
Xbox president Sarah Bond appears to confirm that the next-gen Xbox will be a hybrid PC + console. “The next-gen console will be a very premium and high-end curated experience. You're starting to see some of the thinking we have in this handheld…” youtu.be/yDmwJ7tuoD8?...

The deepfake angle is silly, but a consistent easy lidar-esque 3d scan tool for face geometry imports for Miis, sports games, Perfect Head Mode, etc. would be neat. A bit of a cost bloat, but I get the idea of having a feature come "standard" for devs to ever use it.
How would you feel about 3D face scanning built into the DualSense 2 to deepfake yourself into games as next gen tech?

I have never seen a real human being say that they like using Teams. At all. Ever, for any purpose.

I am continually see-sawing between thinking that Microsoft execs are just full of shit and lying to themselves and others, vs. them actually believing this shit and actually being that out of touch
This is the future of Windows. Microsoft wants to rewrite Windows to turn computers into AI PCs that you talk to. It's now bringing AI features to all Windows 11 PCs today, in a bid to convince you to talk to your PC and let AI control it. Full details 👇 www.theverge.com/news/799768/...

Fun realization: as LLMs are shoehorned into the interface of more and more services, eventually we will get to the point of LLMs asking for/nudging for/expecting Tips. And along with that, increasingly personal and uncomfortable psychological tricks to get them.

Incredible. You can see exactly how the "blame all the problems on anything other than my decisions" braindead leadership thinking led to such an insanely useless change.

The Twitch rewind premium feature is funny because you've actually been able to do it for years, it's just cumbersome; if you save a clip during a live stream, you can open the full page for that clip and then the "view video" button will take you to a rewindable version of the stream, like a VOD.
