I was reading an article about Eileen Higgins winning the election for mayor of Miami (Nice!) and there was a line where they mention she pledged to be a full-time mayor with no outside employment.
How was being mayor of Miami not already a full-time job?

I love @taskmaster.tv and was so happy to see them coming to the US for a tour but they keep underestimating their popularity in the US, especially NYC.
Every time they do something in the city it sells out instantly. Today the US tour tickets went on sale and well... they sold out immediately.

If you want my vote for governor of NY all you simply have to do is say you'll officially bring back the names of the Tappan Zee Bridge, Queensbridge, the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel and the Outerbridge. None of them should have had their names changed and the people of NY and NYC want them returned.

Variety put out a list of what they think are the best comedy movies of all time. It's arguably one of the worst movie lists I've seen in many years. There's a drama in the top 10 and Airplane! is at #62. It's insane.

NEW BLOG POST: Looking Up in NYC

There’s an old New York City adage that the only people who look up while walking around in Manhattan are the tourists.

Well, I’ve been living here for almost 40 years, and I still look up.

I would love to know what happened as there wasn't a new Halloween episodes this year. There's no Thanksgiving episode and I'm going to assume no Christmas episode either.
Losing the holiday episodes is an absolute shame as they're often some of the best in the season and can be watched year round
Yes!
@lorenbouchard.bsky.social Hello again Mr. Bouchard! Will there be a Halloween episode and a Christmas episode again for next season of Bob's Burgers after Season 15?

Society broke down and all, but you really still need to stop at red lights
I can't believe we need to explain this one, but it seems that we really do

Interesting little interview by @thecity.nyc with future mayor Mamdani but like nearly every other one there's no mention of street safety or the war on cycling by the NYPD. www.thecity.nyc/2025/11/05/m...

I'm so happy this city showed up for Zohran and now he's going to show up at City Hall every day for the people of this wonderful city. I'm excited for what's to come.

"New Yorkers will board the train at Hoboken Terminal in New Jersey" So... not to NYC but to NJ. *smh* Don't say it's from NYC to LA and not actually go to NYC. This means another train trip to get back to the city and then another to get home.

I listen to @1010wins.bsky.social every day for local news and this morning they talked about Venus Williams and her return to the court. They mentioned her playing well and getting engaged but failed to mention the big news she dropped. She's playing because she needs health insurance.

Minor thing with tonight's win for Mamdani but can we now get the name of the Tappan Zee bridge officially returned and remove the Cuomo name from it? Pretty please.

Something left out of this article by @thecity.nyc is that the OMNY cards are a defacto 20% fare increase over the year for those of us that use a monthly unlimited card. That's the main reason I continue to use a Metrocard. www.thecity.nyc/2025/04/30/m...
