Anyone else feel like we're living in the upside down world?

I've been driving by this spot for years thinking about how under the right conditions it would be perfect to photograph. Last week, when driving between two other spots those conditions lined up. I didn't spend a lot of time there but was able to get a few cool panoramics along with this shot.

I love when the dappled autumn morning light shines through the fog like this.

A few years old, but what a good time that trip was.

If I could time a trip during peak fall colors in the mountains every year, I would.
Maybe I’ll just go to Wyoming to visit my nephew for his birthday every year like I did last year & go from there.
Seems reasonable to me.

Oh Tahoe would be great!!! Depending on where in Colorado you still might be able to catch them. I’m not sure where they’re at for timing right now. Minnesota looked like it was going to be early and vibrant, but it got hot and really seems to have delayed & dulled the color. We’ll see this weekend!

I’m not really feeling the fall colors so far this year. The couple of times I’ve tried to go out, I’ve just kinda felt uninspired. I hope it’s fleeting & I get over it before they’re finished. So, anyway here’s one from Utah last year.

In history, and now more than ever it’s important to recognize, to acknowledge the mistakes of your ancestors & to do better in creating a more just, equitable society.

Today, we recognize the National Day For Truth & Reconciliation. It is a day to remember & honor the indigenous youth who never got to grow up. The ones who were taken & placed into boarding schools never to come home.

The last few weeks, we have had a lot of fog & now a stretch of brilliant, clear, hot days, giving plenty of chances for other things. I'm looking forward to getting out with the camera as much as possible as the colors get better over the next couple of weeks!

I've managed to get myself a little bit behind on the photo editing front lately even though the fall colors near me have been rather unspectacular so far. I'm anticipating that by the weekend that will have changed, which is pretty normal timing around here.

Don’t know if I’ll make it back here this fall or not. I’d sure like to, though.

I've shot this falls many times, but it's been a few years. Plus, I've never come away fully satisfied with a shot from there. I think that this is the best one I've done & I'm probably being too harsh of a critic of myself, but then again, shouldn't we all strive for improvement in our crafts?

seems appropriate today:

“An escalator can never break down. It can only become stairs. You’ll never see an escalator out of order sign. Just escalator temporarily stairs. Sorry for the convenience.” - Mitch Hedberg

I loved Mitch. I still do, but I used to, too.

This morning after I had a cancellation at the doctor I went out for a paddle & as I unloaded the kayak I heard a loon call. I grabbed the camera and ventured in that direction. Soon after, I found the loon & waited only a few minutes before it danced. Perfect start to the day.

Equinox.

This is definitely a favorite from over the years from just northwest of Spearfish, SD.

Farm Aid 40 was such an epic show. It felt so good to be in a crowd with so many other people knowing most of us were there for the right reasons, being in community, helping those in need & having a good time. We need this more than ever right now.

I’ve shot a lot of loon photos this summer, but I really like this one.
