Just gonna say this again for games sphere cus we get the same question:

Talking to one of these types at a con who asked how I 'got in' with so many 'famous writers' who I'd been talking to and I said "we made friends before anyone knew who we were decades ago by striking up interesting conversations and enjoying each other's company" and he kept re-asking the question.
They have come to the convention hoping to "break in" and then find themselves -- shocker! -- a "nobody in the book world." Yeah no shit! We all are! I have gently told guys like this a million times that it takes most of us *years* of hard work but they do not believe that could be true for them. +

really enjoying avowed lately. i've only played deadfire, but this nails what i imagined pillars in 3d would look like aesthetically. i appreciate its more streamlined approach, and its smaller, more curated maps filled with lots of nooks and crannies to explore. idk it's just fun. i think it's neat

The thing that gets me about this is that even if we wanted to make a positive AI ad, they never showcase AI being used to enhance someone’s day or improve their workflow. There’s no “it allows me to more easily do what I love.” It’s always presented as a failsafe for the dispassionate and incurious

trial and erroring your way through different iterations of a piece until its final form emerges; constantly refining your ideas until they crystallise into something worthwhile, is the whole fucking point. if that sounds boring to you, and you want to use AI to skip it, fuck off. do the work.
