I’m happy for those who inherited their great-grandmother’s KA mixers. I get a little jealous when you rave about how your 35-year-old mixers are still solid. I hope someone in my family gets to rave about my mixer decades from now.

There’s someone called MrMixer whose business is fixing KA mixers, including brand-new ones. I had to order an everdime to fix the shaky tilt head of my mixer, which I’ve only used twice. While KA tilt-head mixers are aesthetically pleasing in the kitchen, their functionality & durability are poor.

I have a Kenwood and Ankasrum mixer on my wishlist. Should a home baker own such expensive mixers? I’m not sure, but I guess I can include them in my will. That way, someone in my bloodline won’t have to cough up $$$ for a good mixer when I’m gone.

Ever since I realized my KitchenAid mixer isn’t powerful enough to knead tough dough, I’ve stopped baking bread. How is a $400+ mixer not built for kneading tough loaves? We should start a class action lawsuit—who’s in?

That’s how it’s meant to be. Only a bakery should be feeding their starter every single day or treating their starter like a demigod 😭
