When I started writing Crafting Platforms, the second chapter was supposed to focus on “Platform as a Product.” But as I developed the content, it became clear that I couldn’t discuss product thinking without first defining the broader context: the Internal Developer Platform itself.

I tried the @grafana.bsky.social MCP server today with @github.com Copilot and @gitlab.com Duo, both with Claude Sonnet and I’m speechless. It’s definitely my preferred new toy, and it will become essential in my toolset moving forward.

In physics, momentum (“quantity of motion”) is the product of mass and velocity: p = mv

He empezado a escribir un libro sobre cómo construir una plataforma cloud. No tanto sobre la disciplina de Platform Engineering como concepto, sino sobre el lado práctico: qué piezas necesitas, cómo encajan y cómo resolver los problemas que toda empresa se encuentra al levantar una plataforma.

Casi todos los artículos y reflexiones que leo sobre IA en ingeniería es si va a reemplazar a desarrolladores juniors, o si los seniors van a mejorar su productividad en un 10x, pero pocas veces reflexionan sobre si van a reemplazar a project/product managers, o engineering managers…
