For genuine fan-club connection, the Multi-Club Ownership (MCO) model is largely detrimental. As exemplified by Drogheda United's recent European expulsion, most fans face disappointment when their club adopts MCO.

As we are close to the end of a clear 'entry wave' of investors, the most fascinating side of this story may only materialise when the 'exit wave' starts to unfold. If these 'smarter' investors do not generate their expected return after 5-10yrs, football ecosystem is in for a troubled period.

Portuguese football appears to be one of the prime targets for multi-club expansion these days, w/ many lured by the potential access to LatAm players through such proxy. Hopes, cheap bargains, beliefs and seemingly compelling arguments but very little proof on the effectiveness of MCO.
