Footpaths is a hiking and nature blog, publishing articles on our experiences in the great outdoors. We like to interact with others that love nature and advocate for Mother Earth.
It's prairie season and recently Footpaths revisited Kamama Prairie to hike a section of the preserve that we missed on our visit last year. It was a great outing full of sun, diverse habitats, prairie flowers, and butterflies.

We saw two forms of Funnel-veil mushrooms while hiking in the Florida Panhandle recently. The cap is bulbous when it first appears, then opens to the form on the right.

I've seen many lovely photos of colorful and unique fungi on Bluesky and they have brought me peace. So I thought that I would share a photo of a cluster of mushrooms that interestingly blended into the Longleaf Pine woodland forest of the Florida Peninsula floor remarkably.
