Thanks for the whole thread, @kenmcld.bsky.social . Do you have a whole map of all these bills and programs? ...like @kumu.io What's the potential for ISA in CA after the veto?

At least in my city (~80k population), the municipal code mandates a certain "Level of Service", i.e., vehicles cannot be delayed more than 45 seconds. Speed limits must be set to an 85th percentile driver, however fast they drive. There's nothing saying pedestrians shouldn't die.

MTC provides TDA funds to each city for public transit. How much do they get from that? (I know about Article 3 funds for bike/ped programs. The other two things are "streets and roads" and "public transportation".)

Anyone who has worked in manufacturing knows it takes years to ramp up a new factory - more than one presidential term. They have to be confident in the ROI.

Not necessarily. Some are jolts and some are rollers. I don't know for sure, but I think it depends on the angle from the epicenter or something about the shape of the tectonic plate that shifted. (Can somebody link to a good explanation?)
FYI, I live 10 miles from San Ramon.

So when American cars drive there, they widen the streets for them?

From the American President (1995):
"People don’t drink the sand because they’re thirsty; they drink the sand because they don’t know the difference.”

I think there already was an overwhelmingly chaotic and negative narrative, but do go on ...

I saw the segment last night - thank you so much for continuing what you do! We have fantastic universities on the West Coast that should be able to help with research. I'm hopeful that other states will join the effort and bring their resources.

Do you follow @oaklandprivacy.bsky.social - they are relevant here. #ALPR

I'm a big supporter of my local bookstore (and my local library). In situations when I want an ebook, I buy through @bookshop.org so I can still support them.

I asked my local Indivisible group why they use FB and IG (and Google everything). "We have to go where the people are." No, you can build a presence somewhere that isn't evil! They will follow.

These green circles and blue dots are FLOCK security cameras #ALPR that ICE apparently uses without warrants. deflock.me/map#map=12/4...

I love this quote, "…Craft beer is at its best when it collapses differences between people."

I argued against Pleasanton PD expanding their contract for Flock #ALPR cameras. 4th Amendment violation. "Thank you for your comment." (Passed unanimously)

Oops, that should be "can't" ...

The Mayor of our city just bought an e-cargo bike (I know, right!?!?). And now he looks at our city's bike racks like, "hmm, I can park here."
IYKYK is now If You Bike, You Know.

For most people, the results are "negative". Is he saying his were "very positive"?
