I rescued an antique pink wallflower from the sad plants table at my local nursery; it cost $1.00. I hope I can coax a few more blooms out of it.

I bought a little bunch of Hypericum berries for my writing desk, as they looked interesting. Had never seen them before, and also hadn't realised they were the berries of St. John's Wort. Now I want to grow some.

Pruned the rose hedge in the backyard; hoping it will encourage a second flush of blooms. Didn't touch the star jasmine interspersed among the roses as its flowering beautifully and smells divine.

"It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts,as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit"

Trying to do graphic design work (and small animations) on a 13" MacBook (that has just recently been updated to Tahoe) really sucks. 😩

Croatia in spring 2025 was full of botanical delights, too many to choose from really. Yellow Alyssum (Alyssum alyssoides) and this very cute Parentucellia latifolia were standouts though. Unexpected finds in ordinary places, in this case road verges.

Quiet Moment
Madison Falls
Olympic National Park
Washington

Madison Falls is a quiet moment in Olympic National Park—just a short, gentle walk leads you to a broad cascade spilling through the moss-draped forest, its steady rhythm echoing along the Elwha River.
