I wish I had a version of that old system to help me figure out which stories are worth chasing and which ones I should just let go.

Now I’m writing fiction, and that system I had doesn’t really translate.

I’ve got a pile of story ideas that either run out of steam or get boring enough that even *I* stop caring how they end.

Stay low, move quietly, and approach from downwind to catch it by surprise. Be sure to mask your scent with pine sap.

If it senses you, it’ll bolt and you’ll never catch it.
