An illustrated taxonomy poster featuring native bees found in North America, illustrated on a light periwinkle-blue background. The bees are all illustrated in various poses on native wildflowers or according to their species-specific behaviors. From top to bottom, left to right, there is the yellow-faced bumblebee, the orchard mason bee, the blueberry cellophane bee, the common long-horned bee, the western leaf cutter bee, the bumblebee-like digger bee, the bicolored sweat bee, and the eastern carpenter bee. An illustration of a humpback whale skeleton laying on the sea floor, surrounded by pink octopuses, rat-tailed fish, a giant isopod, a grooved tanner cab, and hagfish! They are illustrated on a dark blue background. An illustrated tiled pattern showing 6 species of salamanders and newts native to California arranged on a light blue background. They are mostly earthy brown, orange, yellow, and black. There are water droplets, sorrel, and redwood leaf litter scattered in between the amphibians.

Super excited to share that I contributed some art to Beasts of the Four Nations: Creatures from Avatar the Last Airbender and the Legend of Korra! The book is out now and filled with gorgeous artwork from many talented artists. Here are some of my favorite color pieces I did! 💕
An illustration of a quilled chameleon, a fantasy creature that resembles a chameleon with large quills emerging from the arms. It is various shades of green and camouflaged against green leaves and tree branches. An illustration of a large green and black rhinoceros beetle with a saddle and harness on top of small sand dunes. The creature is from Avatar the Last Airbender. An illustration of a screaming buzzard wasp, a large wasp-like fantasy animal with the head and feather collar of a vulture. It has 6 insect legs and translucent wings. It is screaming in the image.

The goal of Invertober is to celebrate the biodiversity of invertebrates while encouraging people to make art of these amazing creatures. Draw, paint, sculpt, knit, and create as many or as few of these as you’d like! It’s all for fun :)
