These people want imperialism without the costs associated with it. They want to extract wealth from their territories while leaving the people to die and starve because they view them as subhuman. That's what this is all about. It's neo-colonialism.

I’ve been working on the Lawyers’ Committee Election Protection project for more than 20 years. This kind of threat happens in almost every cycle and almost never materializes. The threat - creating fear - IS the voter suppression tool. It costs nothing so any suppression it produces is a plus.

Plus this is one of the deepest red parts of Tarrant County, which they are desperately trying to hold onto after it flipped for Biden in 2020.

This district was +17 for Trump in 2024 and has now flipped. Imagine what that means for all the districts with thinner margins in the state, especially considering how thin the GOP had to make those margins for their extra gerrymandered maps last year.
