Okay. My throat is absolute sandpaper. I cheered, screamed, chanted, sang like a maniac last night. Those Cats. My God. They are magnificent. We got home at about 1am (sadly can't sleep past 6am ever). We sat in the loudest crowd I think I've ever had for a Geelong match. That's saying something. 🧵

The men's match was good though. Sydney has had some form of late, so it felt like a statement. Stewart and Stengle are back in form. I think I'm in love with Rhys Stanley. All the boys are primed for September.

Didn't get around to any level of recap from the weekend. Gutted for the L against North. Absolutely in it until a massive fadeaway in the last quarter. Great to see the girls out there (I watched on telly but didn't make it as I had a day in Melbourne with my daughter) & hoping for a W next week.

Last night was good. I remember when Essendon were basically football royalty, so I'll never see a 40+ point win over those fuckers as anything less than brilliant. Was it perfect football from us? No. But I like that there was a challenge. Some really good signs, especially for our squad depth.

I haven't seen the coverage so I don't know if it's been mentioned but Bailey Smith ran what looked like a fitness test about an hour before the match. He definitely didn't seem right throughout the day, so maybe he's carrying something?

Great win. I get that the Saints suck but it was a bit of a danger game all the same. Mannagh played close to his best game. Jezza was brilliant, especially early. Guthrie continues his defensive reliability. Holmes was elite. Great to see Tyson back.
