This October the pub's showcasing local mixed media abstract painter and poet, Florence Hutchinson.

Florence works instinctually and spontaneously, drawn by emotion or a fragment of a memory. She also writes visceral poetry about folklore, strange local history, motherhood, botany and horror.

Looking forward to the arrival of this Green Hop Bitter from @runawaybrewery.bsky.social and @trackbrewingco.bsky.social featuring Fuggles, Prima Donna and Hersbrucker hops grown and harvested in Manchester of all places!

A bumper harvest this year, by all accounts.
Large trugs full of bright green hops lined up on a white tiled brewery floor, stainless steel equipment can be seen Pump badge, cream coloured, light blue and green lines, Runaway and Track logos, and that of the Manchester hopped project. Green hopped bitter, 3.8%

Can't think of a better place to spend a wet weekend than the pub. And to mark the end of #Oktoberfest we have a range of German style beers making their way to the pumps. Come down and try something different.

Understandable how quickly things like this could escalate.

#OtD 2 Oct 1766 the Nottingham Great Cheese Riot began. Angry at the excessive price of cheese, a mob formed who seized it and began wheeling or carrying the cheeses away, bowling over the mayor with a cheese. The army put down rioting 2 days later stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/9225...

The Good Beer Guide 2026 has landed! Love that our entry foregrounds our "warm welcome to locals and visitors alike", thank you @camraofficial.bsky.social.

It's lovely recognition for all of our team, especially our cellarman Andrew for sourcing, handling, and serving great real ale. Cheers! 🍻
2026's Good Beer Guide on a brown wooden table. This cover features a stylised country pub among green fields and under a blue sky. Looks pretty idyllic.

Capital! You'll love it, can't even enjoy the view without some history getting in the way. 😄

#HebdenBridge: come for the history. Stay for a pint.

With its steep hills, fast-flowing streams and access to major textile markets, Hebden Bridge was an ideal site for the development of water-powered weaving mills and the town rapidly grew during the 19th and 20th centuries. Once served by a pack horse route over the hills

What are you up to this weekend? The weather doesn't look too shabby if you fancy a stroll.

Among many beers, this weekend we have these two beauties from Anthology over in Leeds.

On cask, Canapé a west coast table beer, on keg, Canopy, a west coast pale.

We assume both refer to Fleetwood.
Light green pump badge, bottom half is a pattern of intersecting triangles, the top half reads Anthology Canape west coast table beer. Green pump badge, bottom half is a pattern of intersecting triangles, the top half reads Anthology Canopy west coast pale.

Ah, like the classic "community leaders"; notable for their ability to quell riots and perform other minor miracles.

New government announcement today would see more powers for communities to take over high street assets like pubs. Very curious to see the small print and what is expected to change www.gov.uk/government/n...

If you don't have the time, skills nor inclination to grow your own hops and make your own beer we can provide you with a constantly changing range of delicious beers.

If you are growing and brewing your own, why not pop in first for some inspiration.

Create your own beer garden – hops are easy to grow and will keep you in tasty ale
To make home-brewed beer, why not grow your own hops? They’re easy to propagate from a rhizome or stem cutting, though they need plenty of room

Just had Gary from Marketing on to say we need to push more dark beer because it matches the glasses.

Told him we always have a dark pump on and they're always delicious.
A half full/empty pint glass on a table. Its black beer is the same colour as the black logo of a stylised fox with a goose standing on its back. The logo text reads Fox & Goose, cooperative pub, Hebden Bridge.

Not quite 3 quid a pint but we make a point of keeping our "house" beer Brewer's Gold by Pictish at £3.80.

It proves a popular drop.

Still craving dark beer. 🖤

We have this classic Irish stout from Leeds' Anthology Brewing Company waiting to be tapped, looks delicious so now trying to figure out when to pop in to get my chops round it.
Circular design, top half reads Anthology Tony in white text on dark green, bottom half zoom in on text of anthology logo, dry Irish stout, 4.8%.

Love this, we're doing lots of thinking at the moment about how best to understand our community, and how we can best serve them as a coop pub, it's a lovely inspiration.

*process will obviously require big paper and fat pens

What we did in school today. Here’s an amazing graphic summary, drawn by Rebecca Osborne as we talked, of today’s Pubs in the Community meeting @nottinghamtrentuni.bsky.social organised by @culturalclare.bsky.social

Community pubs are so important right now. We're always excited to hear of communities coming together to save their treasured buildings.

If you go down to the woods round here our industrial heritage is hard to miss, at the same time nature's reclamation of our valleys can be both inspiring and humbling.

Enjoy your walk and pop in for a pint afterwards.

Ah. A cautionary tale. Life moves pretty quick. You dream about a stout all week. Finally make it to the pub on the Saturday.

Several delicious pints of Abyss in and it's gone. Next thing you know it's YET ANOTHER delicious dark brew. But this time involving a wizard.
