They. A grown-up. I'm the author of an online comic (Theri There) and a community history book (Otherkin Timeline). Alterhuman, otherkin, therianthrope (ΘΔ).
I applaud your courage & vulnerability in creating this video. I've had little opportunity to cite public examples of this perspective when archiving & reporting current events about anti-furry & anti-alterhuman attitudes. I value & like your perspective. I agree with your points. Thank you.

Sorry for the late reply, I haven't been on social media much the last couple of months. Yes, it's the eleventh bill of this kind over the last few years.

@dogpatch.press Here's my third article about TX HB 54.

@erininthemorning.com Republicans have been making these anti-furry bills to satirize transgender students for three years now. GOP is fabricating a moral panic to justify defunding public schools. In my blog, I've been documenting each of these bills & the media coverage of them all along.

Thank you keeping an eye on the bill and catching that they scheduled the hearing for it.

The bill text says exactly how they plan to enforce the ban: by fining schools $10,000 for a first violation & $25,000 for subsequent violations, section 6(f), page 10. It's an excuse to take huge amounts of money away from public schools.

Read this part. Diverting public funds into private pockets at the cost of kids education wasn't popular. Not even among Texas Republicans(!) So, the governor made it a loyalty test, separating sheep from goats, attacking those not in line with his agenda. The school issue didn't even matter for it.

Why the governor of Texas was spreading lies about furries, making a distraction with a mission to crush anyone under the tank treads while rolling this forward. bsky.app/profile/prop...
The Texas House has approved a $1 billion private school voucher bill — the culmination of more than three decades of work by Christian conservative donors.

@jschwartzreporter.bsky.social explains how we got to this moment (published 2024):
