What are therianthropes and otherkin? Here is an introduction. You are welcome to circulate and re-post this essay. bsky.app/profile/fram...
A simple introduction to otherkin and therianthropes. This short article in simple English is a four minute read. See the third post in this thread for the document with all the sources cited and translations into other languages.
Peer-reviewed scientific journal Neuroscience & Biobehavioral Reviews published an article about clinical & non-clinical therianthropy in their July 2025 issue. Learn more about it & share your thoughts on it as a community here: otherkinnews.dreamwidth.org/98880.html

I applaud your courage & vulnerability in creating this video. I've had little opportunity to cite public examples of this perspective when archiving & reporting current events about anti-furry & anti-alterhuman attitudes. I value & like your perspective. I agree with your points. Thank you.

This is a video I made back when the Texas FURRIES Act was still being voted on. I was too scared to post it at the time, because my activism on this matter and perspectives as a survivor of anti- therian conversion abuse got me harassed off my platform. I wont be silent any more, now.

Sorry for the late reply, I haven't been on social media much the last couple of months. Yes, it's the eleventh bill of this kind over the last few years.
My Patreon newsletter for May 2025. A list of articles I wrote for Otherkin News, mostly about anti-furry bills; a Discord server for befriending local alterhumans in the southeastern US; adventures tabling at a zine fair; and more!

Texas HB 54, the 11th anti-furry bill based on the litter box hoax, is scheduled for a hearing on Tuesday. Read my article about why Republicans are doing this, with context, history, analysis, & sources: otherkinnews.dreamwidth.org/97521.html

@dogpatch.press Here's my third article about TX HB 54.
@erininthemorning.com Republicans have been making these anti-furry bills to satirize transgender students for three years now. GOP is fabricating a moral panic to justify defunding public schools. In my blog, I've been documenting each of these bills & the media coverage of them all along.

Thank you keeping an eye on the bill and catching that they scheduled the hearing for it.
The bill text says exactly how they plan to enforce the ban: by fining schools $10,000 for a first violation & $25,000 for subsequent violations, section 6(f), page 10. It's an excuse to take huge amounts of money away from public schools.
This is the GOP's 11th anti-furry bill based on the litter box urban legend. Read why the GOP is doing this, with context & sources: otherkinnews.dreamwidth.org/97521.html The bill author suggested he's baiting furries to make a spectacle at the hearing. Furries, please take care with publicity.
Team, this is not a drill: the FURRIES act, a gross signaling bill banning the nonexistent kitty-litter use in class, will be going in front of the Texas House Education Committee on Tuesday. You can register to speak about it!

Read this part. Diverting public funds into private pockets at the cost of kids education wasn't popular. Not even among Texas Republicans(!) So, the governor made it a loyalty test, separating sheep from goats, attacking those not in line with his agenda. The school issue didn't even matter for it.

The Texas House has approved a $1 billion private school voucher bill — the culmination of more than three decades of work by Christian conservative donors.

You're right that there's no evidence. However, it's important to understand that the bill is *part* of the Republican intent to defund public schools by framing them as hopelessly chaotic. Also, it's not a law yet; Schoolhouse Rock refresher course:
