As a PhD student in the 1920s, Cecilia Payne realised that the Sun and stars are primarily made up of hydrogen and helium - only for a man to take credit for her discovery.

Good morning. Matters are proceeding well for Ireland on this official EU citizens’ petition to ban conversion therapy in the EU.
We were bestilled at 52% last Wednesday.

7days later and we’re about to become one of the 7 countries the petition needs to hit threshold.

Good work to you all.

There is an official 'citizen's petition' system in the EU. There's one open at the moment to ban conversion therapy for LGBT+ people in the EU.

Even if you are currently registered to vote NUI or TCD, they’re throwing you off the register. You have to apply to get back your franchise.

The calibre of the interns I've had the pleasure of working with in Maynooth University is second to none. They do not have to be a drain on your institution and can be (and indeed have been) a great asset.
At @ucdischool.bsky.social, we are still seeking internship opportunities for our MLIS class! If your organisation would be interested in hosting an MLIS student intern in Summer 2025, please contact us at [email protected] for more information.
