i think nathan did something so cool, so moving, and so revelatory on his latest episode showcasing the best of christmas pop music (do NOT listen to his stance on the Booker T & the MGs christmas album tho). mogwai and bing crosby, together at last

i'm here for a defence of Wonderful Christmastime, a song that sounds like a shopping mall and store catalogs and emerged at the exact time where those two things became synonymous with christmas. also, the song hits if you are trying to make a playlist called A Very Stoner Christmas

finally watched The Kids Are Alright last night. ELECTRIFYING performances. as soon as it was over, i wanted to watch it again. pete townshend is/was one of the best musical minds of the 60s/70s. david byrne with a lamp is great, but this tops it

stance on the new danny brown album: on first listen, hated it, thought it was incoherent. grew on me on the second listen and realized that the problem lies squarely with the song Green Light. danny brown may be scaring the hoes, but on stardust, it also sounds like he's one of the girls.

love this song, it's one of my all-time favourites. but i think The Nerves might have the definitive version, not simply because it was the original, but because you BELIEVE Jack Lee when he sings about desperate yearning and fearing rejection... whereas debbie harry? no way i believe her
Released on this day in 1978: #Blondie's version of Hanging On The Telephone.

given with how the culture moves like a pendulum, i have a feeling that the critical consensus on A Little Life will move towards praise in a few years

I can vividly remember the release of Black Messiah back in 2014, which was received with a little surprise but a great deal of celebration. on par with me as mbv released the previous year.

it's so cool to have a song called 'Honey Power' and then have your guitars sound like a swarm of bees

stunning record. wish i could speak with true authority, but i wouldn't be surprised if this is probably the best electronic record of the year (that nobody listens to):
