I hear few good practical ideas even from the anti-AI side; apart from complaining about bad AIs, praising a capitalistic idea of copyright and refusing to use them, risking falling behind—what’s the strategy?

I believe that the fight shouldn’t be targeted at the tool itself, but rather a political struggle against the system, in every possible way. I wouldn’t know which methods are the most effective—personally, I can only act through cultural resistance.

For me, mastering the medium, hacking it, and developing it if possible (starting from open source) is far better than a self-sabotaging boycott.

I actually think they’re very useful for many activity, since they’re general-purpose technologies. On the other hand – as an example – is translating a text a right-wing activity? I don’t even like the car industry (in fact, I like it even less), but unfortunately sometimes I have to travel by car

That’s more effective than enforcing copyright on training datasets, which mostly helps big rights holders and leads to more biased AIs due to smaller, less flexible datasets. Believing copyright will stop AI or help artists is, to me, wishful thinking. You can disagree, but the position is clear.
