needed to find something to write about as the year came to an end. Being that there was some good and a whole lotta bad this year, the only film that made sense to write about was the 1999 thriller(?) The Ninth Gate.

Story of a Junkie. What a film. Mid 1980's New York. Hell on Earth. I can only hope John 'Gringo' Spacely found peace in the next life.

never got around to watching this as I don't have cable nor effort to download them through various means but most importantly, I forgot all about wrestling. Watching the 2 seasons available on Tubi has reignited an interest is wrasslin'. What a fantastic series.

Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn’t Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden or Alice In Chains.

I have always enjoyed the 1945 film 'Dillinger' since they just have Lawrence Tierney playing this lumbering criminal who brutes his way through the movie but even more so; I enjoy the fact they made him a guffawing moron watching a cartoon before getting shot to shit by the cops.

The perfect A24 film; Emotionally stunted so one watches with a passive eye as the misguided performances go on and on but you can only blame yourself, the fool, for believing the great images that the trailer sold you on would make a worthwhile movie in the first place.

Meandering a bit but manages to keep the jokes flowing for the most part until that Be Black, Baby! scene. Holy shit. Watching that scene in a well lit room was intense and i can't even imagine seeing it in the dark of a movie theater.

Irish filmmaker Kate Dolan is a truly lovely person and a talented director and does not deserve to be caught in a shitstorm like this.

Check out her 2021 feminist Samhain folk horror film You Are Not My Mother if you'd like to support her!

I remember seeing the trailer for this at Ken Cinema many many years ago and thought 'i should see that'. I didn't and only just got to watching and its pretty cool. Not the greatest but not the worst. Just pretty good. Though I will say my blood lust was not as fulfilled as I would have hoped.

I always enjoyed Paul Schrader's remake of 'Cat People'. Especially the presentation of the ridiculous lore behind the cat people. The music. The look. Malcom McDowell being both the best and worst to sell this information. God i love this movie.

What a movie. It's like Clerks except made by people who seemed to have had sex and not interested in lame stuff like Star Wars. Shame that Sarah Jacobson didn't have a chance to make another feature. So much here that leaves one wondering if she just had a couple more bucks what she could do.

Just got the 4k remaster of this from Umbrella a few days ago. I had a copy of the Master of Cinema release where they it was a low quality transfer overall but still watchable. This though, from an actual film print, remaster is just amazing. One of my favorites of all time and better than ever.

Better than I remember and I hardly remember it. Fun stuff. Maybe Robert Rodriguez could have been a solid journeyman for the studios instead of whatever he does these days. Also, not only can you boo when the Weinsteins credit shows up but you can also boo when Harry Knowles shows up as a teacher.
