Luisa was the daughter of Taylor librarian Heinrich Krebs, and so was born and grew up in the Taylorian in the early 20th century. In this work, she reveals what her life and the library was like at the time.

A black and white photograph. On the right, sat down in a chair, is Heinrich Krebs. He is a middle ages white man with a beard. He is wearing a long suit jacket and tie, and holds a book open on his lap. On the right of the picture is Luisa Krebs as a young teenager. She is white, with a short brown bob. Definitely the end of an era! So many students of English will have memories of the EFL and the English Faculty at St Cross. Really happy memories of studying there in the 80s - not to mention attending all those lectures and, latterly, teaching there (creative writing)!
