Specifically, Aki hits so much stronger as a character for me with his deep, tired voice in this version, and I really gotta appreciate how far Makima is out of Suzie Yeung’s usual type of character, even as she’s totally nailing it and making it sound natural

Catching my partner up before the movie, and checking out the dub myself
Appreciating the cinematic direction choices a lot more this time around - the slow, contemplative moments really make the action hit harder by contrast, and the English performances are all killer!
