Really grateful this technology exists so the rest of humanity doesn’t have to interact with a nonce like you.

You essentially said you’re anti labor by proposing a salary cap…those owners aren’t going to love you any more.

Fact is Dodgers are not a lock to win the championship in ‘26. Lots of things are going to go wrong for them and lots of things are going to go very well for others. What is a lock is that fans and players will be treated to one of the best experiences on MLB win or lose.

those teams don’t deserve their fans support or the services of employees who want to win while getting paid the maximum they can extract. Make those teams spend or else sell to owners who will spend to win versus not spending at all not to lose equity value.
January 16, 2026 at 8:46 PM
That said they’re still ownership and as such I’m for players, custodians, ushers, maintenance workers, etc. extracting whatever the market will bear in terms of compensation. The fact other owners keep selling an inferior product to their fans is a them problem…

Did I say that anywhere? No. But several things can be true at once. They pay to put butts in seats and to win championships - see not only player comp but stadium renovations, spend on farm, back office upgrades, etc.

The “poorest” owner in the league is worth “only” $800mm. Sorry but not sorry - salary caps are very much anti-labor - on the other hand a salary floor…

A good portion of the league’s owners care more about the value of their equity than the value of their fans and players experience and it shows.

Who will think of all those poor owners who are so disadvantaged…? Never seen so many anti-labor takes.

I get it. You’re bad at math but great at doomsaying. I guess we should all just give up then. If you think asking somebody to prove their wild claim is “sealioning “then have I got news for you about how things function in the real world.

It sucks because I really like Dan's work but he's acting an overly pessimistic ass. Everything coming out of MN right now is terrifying except the near-universal backlash to the stormtroopers that's making them sleep in places over the state border in WI.

Could they do it in a more targeted fashion? Again, sure, but they still have huge logistical limits that would stretch them extremely thin if this was attempted nationwide.

If it’s 1,000 then multiply that number accordingly - 20 per polling place would suggest 20,000 ICE agents / bad actors. What evidence is there that 20,000 people could be brought to bear to move enough people from voting at all and that those people are just going to give up and not push back?
January 15, 2026 at 7:21 PM
If it’s impossible to answer it’s impossible for the supposed perpetrators to even come up with a plan to do it. If you said they only have to affect 100 polling places why? How many people would they need to bring?
January 15, 2026 at 7:21 PM
Not trying to win an argument- I’m trying to understand what basis you’re using to make the assertion that “you wouldn’t have to Jan 6 them all to have a meaningful effect” if (as you say) it’s an “impossible question to answer until we know how close the race for the House is and what the margins.

Yeah, you’re not a serious person.

Didn’t answer the question so I’ll be specific: how many of the 95,000 polling places in the US (not to mention mail in and early polling places) would they have to disrupt in such a way as to move the needle enough? 10? 100? 1,000? 10,000? 50,000?
