Whilst many scholars and commentators are focused on militarization of policing in the context of state-society relations. We need to look at within state effects in the context of America's federal institutions, too. In a country with one party dominant systems in many states what does that mean?

Nothing about the math regarding data centers stands up to any significant scrutiny. It never has. The stock valuation of AI “products” is almost exclusively for things which do not yet exist, and were they all to be realized, would require so much energy as to virtually guarantee extinction.
i was actually shocked to see the numbers on new research from Global Energy Monitor on new gas projects in the US: nearly 100 gigawatts of power—enough to power tens of millions of homes—are currently in development explicitly to power data centers. At the end of 2023 that number was 4 gigawatts
