Middle aged couch potato who should grab her crochet WIP if the cat her daughter rescued would get off her lap. NY Masshole stranded in TX hoping to stay in touch with her scattered friends.
It is currently 78 outside on Dec 26 in McKinney, TX. It is 75 in the house with the AC running, thank goodness. And my mom is wearing a turtleneck and a sweater. I'm dripping just looking at her.

Andrew's reaction to the so-called finale of Enterprise: Well at least it's not canon, since it's a holodeck episode.

It still pisses me off.

So nice hearing the rain last night. Finding the grill overturned this morning not so much. And there's some more rain and storms but we really need it.

Went out for dinner tonight just me and Phil. We were sat right away at a large booth. Waited 30 minutes !!!!! before a server came up. If Phil hadn't stared down a server I think we'd still be there without water just twiddling our thumbs.

Unabashedly middle aged happy with the new dishwasher that was just installed. Also, showing my middle agedness, we got a great deal on an open box floor model.

Sigh. I was hoping to see Kiss of the Spider Woman this weekend at my local theater but apparently I'll have to go a bit further afield. Boo. Not that Plano or Frisco are far, but still. The show I saw on Broadway would be worth it; I sure hope the movie is. www.fandango.com/kiss-of-the-...

Just bested my best Connections streak. Which means I'll lose tomorrow. 28 days is not great but it's big to me.

While away on vacation, lost power, which is unsurprising. Upon return, all the automated and programmable light bulbs and plugs were screwy and we essentially had to reconnect them. The power just flicked off again. And everything is screwed. AGAIN. Stupid TX grid.

It's nothing short of a miracle--the windows are open. In September. In TX. It's absolutely delightful and the cat is loving it. As are the people in the house.

There is only one thing more cringe than “God Bless our First Lady. She, of course, is wiser than all of us” and it is “I am the U.S. Energy Secretary and I talk to ChatGPT about how to cure cancer.”
Energy Secretary Chris Wright: "I'm working every day on using AI to figure out how to cure cancer or launch fusion energy or understand dark matter. Our Defense Department is trying to figure out how to keep America safe. God bless the First Lady. She of course is wiser than all of us."

Watching ST:ENT with Andrew and we are up to S3. Just watched the episode with the obnoxious religious fanatics and Andrew remarked, "Ugh that guy is like Kai Winn." Spot on comparison. He had the smug asshole bit down entirely.

Look, kids! An Easter egg! An ACTUAL, old school Easter egg!
No, you're not seeing things — that really does seem to be #DoctorWho's TARDIS in the background of this week's #StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds, parked on the ship's port nacelle while inside the scavenger ship (seen in multiple shots)

I thoroughly enjoyed Fantastic 4. Smartly paced, well-drawn characters, and a good villain. Looking forward to a re-watch.

Superman is a delight! Enjoyed it a whole bunch. Would happily watch it again. Corenswet is a great Supes and Clark. Brosnahan is terrific as Lois. Mr. Terrific is a scene stealer. A fun way to spend Sunday morning.

Watching Enterprise is very much temporal-mechanics-give-me-a-headache experience. Even so, enjoying the re-watch.

Watching season 2 of Enterprise and Andrew commented, "I hope we get to see Chef at some point." *Remembers when we see 'Chef'* I bit my tongue so hard. There are some episodes of shows that I just can't with and the finale of Enterprise are two of those.

Watching the season 1 finale of Enterpriseand Andrew's disgusted, resigned reaction to Daniel's reappearance had me cackling.
