Bah. Brutalist structures are at their best in counterpoint with plants. It'll look great if they work toward that end.

OH NO, MAH GOALPOSTS

I'm fine with my tax dollars being used to deliver mail, goods, and medications to people in remote locations for which delivery services will never be financially viable at any price.

Junk mail is allowed to exist because it's profitable for the post office.

I'm not big on making fun of people's names, but a finance committee R named Crapo is further proof that God is a microprocessor

Also, yes, the energy of just *standing in line* for five hours is a precious memory.

You know what? With the benefit of hindsight and a little more work by brains more resilient than mine,

That was 5 hours of regular work, maybe 3 hours of regular troubleshooting, and 3 hours waayyy off course because someone thought that Chat might be onto something, rather than just on something.

But again -- Ailes and Murdoch don't get to do what they do without massive media deregulation. Cart, horse.

A nice thing about vice signaling is that I'm less inclined to lose sleep over whether virtue signaling is sincere.

Uh, thank you for this hatepost, I guess? They're not currently selling any pants (never stop sucking, adspace) but I've been looking for a man's equivalent of stout yoga pants. The pants look okay before they bounce to 404, and they seem like a nice company.

Buildings always look sad when they're new. The OL looks like it has enough breathing room for the grounds to transform it over time.

It's not a great comparison, because it's on more land in a warmer climate, but here's the Carter Center in the 80s and 20s. The site was pretty lush by +15y, IIRC.

welp, all of the direct sales sites are out of large ddr4 and the bezos barn has imposed a _price gouging pause_. I did manage to order something reasonably reputable, but man, what a weird day. Thanks again.

Either the right or wrong person, depending on how you slice it, showed up for testing.

I think there are times we can just say everyone over 40 is a millennial. My octogenarian inlaws are millennials for this post.

Oh wow, thanks! I had seen that the "Memory" tab in CPU-z had the same info as wmic, and that appeared to be the end of the road.

My husband asked for RAM for Christmas. I am *furious* that I am going to have to *disembowel his computer* in his absence like some kind of *campsite raccoon* to find out what kind of RAM because Winders somehow *can't tell* and now I need to order it tout de suite.
