I feel like I know what artist you're talking about but I've also seen so many different iterations of this happen to small and big artists alike that are just being helpful. Insecurity makes people act so weird and not be able to just take what is helpful and leave what is not
I saw a Japanese artist on Twitter get so many death threats for her TUTORIALS and calling her a stupid stuck up know it all that she deleted her account and all the tutorials.
People are NOT NICE if you help them for free online as an artist! They are MEAN MEAN MEAN.

Feels good that someone else noticed this lol I grew up speaking Spanish & English and this bugged me so much growing up that I ended up learning French and Mandarin as a teen because speaking/writing Spanish wasn't seen as impressive
Multilingualism is the OG 'high if you're white/low if you're not' status marker (noting the highly changeable nature of 'white'). I get credit for habling el Spanish, my kid's friends parents who are from Mexico get bugger all credit for their far superior English.
