That's exactly my question, is it possible that the executable code was maliciously modified to deliver exactly the hash required to make the comparison successful and continue counting with the changed code?

Is there a possibility that the hashsum that was calculated at boot time is not the one that was sent for comparison?

It is also possible that the tests showed correctness but that the machine was reprogrammed to work incorrectly only during actual voting, as was the case in the Dieselgate scandal with Volkswagen cars.

He already explained that he didn't know it was a Nazi symbol and covered it up as soon as he found out. I saw it and I believe him because the symbol is not widely known. I'd rather hear what he has to say about other topics.

He may be a puppet of the Heritage Foundation and hard-core religious conservatives. But I don't think he's anyone's puppet, he's completely in it, just waiting for his moment, now or in the next election.

I'm not so sure he's the lesser evil. I think he's just biding his time. Impeach or natural death is a win-win situation for him.

I can tell you that current president of Serbia came to power 12 years ago with populistic agenda, similar as Trump. And he took control over media, state agencies, courts and election process, so he can't be overturned on elections. Serbia now is what US can be 12 years from now - autocratic state.
