No - never been. Venice is our only venture into Italy, for which we really mustn't grumble. London has at least 1 'vermouth bar' but we've never sampled any. We've probably mentioned it already but, if you fancy a spot of online shopping for vermouths & the like, Master of Malt is worth a browse.

I love her work. Especially Che si puó fare. Splendid Sunday listening 🎶

Oh, we love to listen to the wireless! Especially this time of year. We're great fans of #BBCRadio3. Unless they play Wagner/Stockhausen/Stravinsky etc. Have to turn it off then. Went to the live broadcast yesterday of the #InTune Christmas special from the Broadcasting House theatre. Pure joy 😊

Much of the damage done will take decades, possibly generations, to repair. We have native NYC friends who are in despair.

Caroline, you have my deepest sympathy. Keep reminding yourself that you married him for a reason. This, most certainly, was not it, but there *were* good reasons ....

As soon as he said, in an accusatory manner, that nothing like this had happened until she arrived, I was deeply suspicious. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

She shops at John Lewis. Naturally.

Can't beat that leftovers/freezer raid business, can you? We did that recently with meatball mix for spaghetti. Come to think of it, we try to do it with anything & everything we can. Always. Maybe because we're gluttons.

On our list for next visit.

Oooh - will add that to my browsing list. By the way, is this the restaurant you recommended that's on the same street as Profeta? It looks good.

Think we just have to try to visit more often. Once we're done with Christmas card writing etc, though, I've promised myself a few evenings of browsing Venetian property-for-sale porn. Because it's fun.

Yes. So very many reasons against it now.

It's also spitting in the faces of British voters, telling us they've no right to make up their own minds. We should simply follow whatever the Mail and the rest dictate. As a former national journalist I have to say I've never seen such shocking behaviour.

Crikey. Good on you. Must confess, we are now a 3 x advent calendar household, though of the old-school. No booze or chocolate (sadly). Just images of mad children with evil intent, hiding behind doors & windows.

Wish we were there.

Imagine my horror, on 11 Nov, when I was scuppered by M&S Westfield Stratford as I browsed the brassica aisle. Relieved to learn that I was, in fact, immune until 1st Dec. Phew!

Bloody Nora! I'm on me way ....
