Another angle, and this is the same with the C16 / +4, is that the modern coders seem to occupy a space that didn't exist when the machines were new. Producing stuff that just wouldn't have seemed possible bitd. The C64 and speccy have had top tier devs squeezing magic from them forever

I suppose it's the discovery really. The only msx I ever saw bitd was the yamaha cx5 in the music room at school. And that never got used, it was superceded by an ST after about 6 months.
And you'd get the odd screenshot on the back of games cases. And a tiny few inches of shelf space in WH Smith.
