Adventure Time's Duke of Nuts being one of them.

For my next campaign, the will be PCs being strangers, thrown together by the cruel whims of fate (aka the DM, me).
Each will have enjoyed some measure of celebrity and/or notoriety, so I'm having the players create rumours about each other.

#D&D #ttrpg

Some examples:

Not really advice, more like that Doctor Who quote:

> Because you're going to be like that anyway. You might as well make it part of the plan, then it'll feel on purpose.

I turned my DM obsession into objects: I built a craft foam violin for my first campaign's Bard; and a dagger for the Rogue.

Afterwards, I revealed that I had named that option the "Cliffs of Knievel" in my notes, and despite the fact that we all knew that failure would mean certain death, that I was almost certain that they would choose it.

...The War Machine did explode a little bit after making the jump, though.

My #D&D #DescentIntoAvernus players had to cross the River Styx.
They could pay for a ride across; or work for a Devil to earn their passage; or... there was a high stony cliff, overlooking the river.

After careful thought, the Barbarian floored it and jumped the War Machine over a 250ft gorge.

My favourite addition so far is the "New > From Blank" button, which now wipes the content in the scratch space to give users an easy way to start a fresh document.

I didn't know how many things you could use that ventriloquism book on! I don't know if it counts, given that Guybrush isn't introducing himself, really... Although I kinda want to see more of the adventures of Frank, the talking donkey who fights crime.

I believe the "I'm Bobbin. Are you my mother?" line was post-cannon in the Circus of SoMI.

ELAINE: "You honestly expect me to believe that you were disintegrated in a pit of acid? And yet here you are telling me about it, looking very integrated indeed?"
GUYBRUSH: "Ah, well... OK, I embellished it a little for dramatic effect."

As the survivors departed the House of Fear, the players realized that when the villagers ask what happened, they would tell the tale of the house that killed their friend.

The legend of the House will spread.
The fear will grow.

And the House will feed.

After a time, the party found the altar chamber; chanting ghosts (or illusions of ghosts?) repeated through arcane phrases, but among them were "take a life to save your life" and "fresh blood upon the altar".
Crossing to the altar block, the floor rumbled and the Fear Eater surged in to attack!

As the party pushes on to explore their fleshy prison, they are attacked by creatures from within the walls, trying to drag them down! Is that part of how this Giant Mimic feeds?

However, on approaching the children, they realize -- they have no face! The skin splits vertically, revealing a horrible, toothy maw - these are not children, but rather some sort of horrid mockery!
The trap sprung, the creatures attack!

...and at least, we get an actual combat to play out.

Pushing on, the party is freaked out by a harpsichord-playing ghost, a suit of armor nearly drops an axe on them, but they progress up to the attic. What choice is there? Go back outside to the mists?

Inside the house, they swiftly find all is not as it seems... A sword falls and slices into the Ranger, while in the den, a stag's head turns to laugh at the Rogue as they fail to unlock a weapon case.

A classic note that I'm sure will come in handy during the session:

Today's the day: #Daggerheart Halloween one-shot is due to start in less than ten hours!
So naturally I'm doing my usual DM last minute preparations and revisions - adding spot art from itch.io, specifically Hounskull and Fscibe.

Swapping out Nodesto for Eveleth feels right, given that the primary focus of this document is Daggerheart, not Dungeons & Dragons.

I don't know why I started giving my Environments alliterative names, but I feel like it's a thing now and I should probably keep doing it.

It's made it a lot easier to add stuff to the Halloween one shot that I've been (slowly) working on in Homebrewery; due to the environmental psychic shenanigans, things found inside the house work better than expected, but revert to normal on leaving.
So I just added the cards for both versions.

The latest completed addition is Beast Forms; the Homebrewery output should produce something like this:

Minor update to all 189 Domain Cards; now the API can tell you not only which _page_ of the SRD document the card data is on, but also which _card_ it is in the Core Set.

For example: NOT GOOD ENOUGH can be found on page 121 of the 09/09/2025 DH SRD PDF, and is card 104 in the Core Set.
