Great debate at #2024GCAN: xanthine oxidase for all people with #gout initiating ULT (vs personalized Rx choices) won out. Hail to the (fire) Chief, gout goddess Lisa Stamp, on her decisive win by audience vote.

#GCAN2024 was this week in Alexandria, VA. There is a growing GCAN activity in calcium pyrophosphate crystal deposition disease (CPPD, previously known as pseudogout). Tx to Dr. Neogi for posting this from the CPPD workshop, though it looks more like a LARGE but mighty passionate group to me !
This photo from #2024GCAN probably reflects every major active researcher around the world involved in #CPPD research. A small but mighty and passionate group working to advance the science and care of patients with this common disease lacking approved Rx.
