Not as awful as the cuts themselves, obviously, but there's something dispiriting about the BBC internalising the language of 'crackdowns'. Crackdowns on benefits. As if benefits are some sort of social evil to be cracked down upon, like hooliganism or drunk driving. www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c0...
