And if someone who treats intimacy as injury sees an opening, redress becomes identity work: the past is rewritten as harm, the present as entitlement, and the future as indefinite compensation.

This is a coherent system designed to avoid being known, corrected, or obligated, using ethical language as cover.

It protects in the short term and corrodes relationships over time.

Partners end up trapped: engage and you harm them; withdraw and you neglect them. Either way, you lose.

Over time, this reliably produces confusion and self-doubt in others, which is then cited as proof of further harm.

Relationships become asymmetric. One person gets interpretive authority; the other gets perpetual risk.

Asking is framed as assault, so consent can’t exist. Understanding is framed as infringement, so repair can’t happen.

People who live this way form identity by negation. “I am what I refuse.” Ethics replaces self-knowledge. Boundaries replace preferences.

Ordinary connection is read as threat. Care, questions, clarity are treated as hostile acts. Meaning gets assigned after the fact to keep the self safe.

I’d rather see Washington, Oregon and Cali join forces and secede. I don’t want to be subject to the weird political whims of their population.
January 23, 2026 at 5:51 PM
Oh, we know. A segment of the population is so addled by US-manipulated social media and grievance narratives that they’re inviting disaster.

Believe me, a lot of us are going “oh fuck.” Unlike Ukraine we have too much land to control and no supply lines to friendly nations that the US can’t cut.

California’s economy is bigger than Canada’s. You’re proposing annexation 😆

Still. At this late stage we can’t just buy an Air Force and expect to hold off the biggest military in the world.

We need to put money into things that would change the game for both sides in the event of an invasion that might come well before the first Gripen arrives.
