Lover of nature, eco garden designer, plantaholic, permaculturist. Saving the earth one plant at a time
Delighted to see a Comma butterfly in our garden for the first time, seen here sunbathing with a shield bug. It was our 9 year old daughter that spotted it first, she's become a bit of a butterfly enthusiast.
This, and the clouds of other butterflies we have, makes the nettle thickets worthwhile!

One of our improvised gates we made for the garden, this one is scrap wood and drift wood. Turned out alright

The beach provides after a storm, when I take washed up seaweed to feed the soil at home. So we return the favour to the beach and the sea, after taking the seaweed we take the mess that humans are making. This was a full bag on our little beach, mostly fishing lines and plastic bottles this time

@sadhbhoneill.bsky.social Heard you talking on WLR summarising the election for you and the greens. Very well said, couldn't agree more and the old warhorses threw the greens under the bus at every opportunity. The progressive left will return, hopefully before the planet makes the choice for us

@marcocathasaigh.bsky.social my condolences on the result, must be hard to take. If it's any consolation, our daughter was excited that you may be returning to her school, she'd love to have you as a teacher and was keen to learn more about nature and debating. So you've got a big fan there already!

Good advice for getting the most out of your ballot
This is a really good argument for why you should vote down the ballot, even for people you detest- just give them your lowest preference.
I try to explain it here: www.gibiris.org/eo-blog/post...

(I keep meaning to change the title, as I don't want people to think I'm telling them to do something. It's more a strategy for achieving a specific goal, if that's your goal)

More raised beds going in at the local school I work with, nice to be out in the sun and bye, bye boring grass. No dig, so we'll just put some cardboard down and then soil and compost on top
