One day I will go to see the Whales/Dolphins. I didn't learn my seabirds - I guess I need to learn more about those too before I do go....
Managed to squeeze in a 1hr seawatch during a mini break in Whitby today armed with bins and camera only. Failed to find my target species juv Caspian Gull, but a Sooty Shearwater >N more than made up for it. Also Manx N, c250 Common Scoter N, c40 Teal N, and 2 close Bottlenose Dolphin. #UKBirding

Any Whitby lovers on here? We’re off for our annual pre-Christmas long weekend in a few weeks time. Love this time of year best. Fewer crowds, crisp walks along the beach to Sandsend, dark nights, wet cobblestone, cozy pubs, Christmas lights, The Krampus Run, smoked mackerel breakfasts.
