I unfortunately don't think he does really believe it in any real sense to begin with, he's a lot more obsessed with optimizing variables that he can test so that he can seem exceptional, with minimal regard for how that really relates to longevity. The first trip doesn't seem to have changed much.

inevitably, this is kind of where that leads; he will keep escalating the stunts and wacky behaviors until he gets what he wants, namely, to be a cool guy who gets to hang out with grimes and livestream doing shrooms or w/e
