Turned on my Series S for the first time in a couple years to download the new RDR version. The @digitalfoundry.bsky.social review made it look so good.

I was having connection issues with my PS5, to the point I thought it was on its way out. Turns out my TV stand was blocking the WiFi signal somehow, and putting it vertically next to the TV made it suddenly work normally again. Writing this in case it helps anyone troubleshooting lol.

How long would a properly remade Kotor be? I imagine Dantooine and Tatooine alone would be semi-open world and take twice as long to get through. And if Kotor II were remade, I could imagine Telos or Dxun being quite sprawling too.

21 years later, KOTOR II remains a great experience on Switch 2. Something about being able to use a controller just feels right compared to the PC version too.

Also shoutout to Obsidian for the RNG loot. One of my favorite underrated features in games like this.

Have dialogue options become better or worse in games over the years? I grew up loving the 2000-2010 Bioware/Obsidian style and feel like I've been chasing that ever since. It's one of the reasons why I think I'm enjoying The Outer Worlds 2 so much.

It truly is a great ability to have. It's like having two different versions of your favorite game to play. Also can lead to some hilarious moments e.g. "making a killing" in Lothering in Dragon Age Origins.

Still a little angry I paid $52 for Battlefield 6 only for it to drop to $35 the next day. Oh well, good game either way. Reminds me of Battlefield Bad Company 2 in a lot of ways. Medic (or I guess "support" now?) continues to be my favorite class.

They are on a scale from "feels like they could be in a Bioware game" to "fun but kind of forgettable."

Replaying Knights of the Old Republic II on Switch 2. I know it gets some flack for dragging a bit (and has an entire mod designed to skip it), but I always loved the atmosphere on Peragus.

The Sega Yakuza drama has reminded me of a particular backlog challenge for me: Finish the game before it gets delisted. So far 0/2 with Alpha Protocol and Yakuza 0.

Been having an excellent time with The Outer Worlds 2. Still not the biggest fan of the tone or world building, but everything else is great. Makes me wish Obsidian was allowed to make Knights of the Old Republic III.
