Myself and my team are all elder millenials (32-41) and approach our work from a progressive, critical mindset. We also all have day jobs in academia.
This is why I watch people like John Wolfe play horror games for me.

Interactive fiction is so difficult to write so I understand some signposting by devs. I've found the most interactive games are the ones that don't have graphics lol. So like, text based adventures. The "Choice of" games or "Arcadie Second Born" being good examples.

There was a discourse early on that the companions in this game were overall a weakness, and to a certain extent that can ring true...at first. But I'd argue that these folks really grow on you as you proceed through their quests, hear their reactions to everything. and shape their personalities.

Likewise. There's a game that just came out called Of Ash and Steel that looks to be of this ilk.
