So I've gotten off the phone with Sallie Mae. I might be eligible for an interest only payment (which would reduce my 1,600 a month to 1,300 a month). Problem is I need to pay the current fee of 3k.

And since I'm bad at promoting here I am now. Chapter 3 is being worked on but 1 and 2 are live.

bringing back a classic

an adaptation of the sandy loam chart, aka, a triangle where each side is an axis from 0 100, forming triangular little pockets in the center in a pseudo-3-axis chart form. the three axes are "hoinky sploinky" "doinky woinky" and "rinky dinky," each with a "pure" form (penis music, furret walk, and ukelele covers respectively). there is a minor screed here about electroswing sucking, which it does.

So yeah, I guess my point is sites like this are good for certain things (announcements, posting your art/projects) and worse than the other options for hanging out with people. But also I've met a lot of cool people here and I don't know where else to do that... (Telegram/Discord chats? I guess?)

It doesn't help that the social media companies have a vested interest in forcing the former to look like the latter (see the Discover tab) to get "engagement"

discussion about other topics (including just shooting the shit) to the appropriate venues. Whereas here you're an individual, and outside of things like locking down comments there's no barrier between "I'm posting a silly thing so my friends can see it" and "I want to have Discourse"

I've seen this posited elsewhere and I kind of agree that a lot of it is the fact that you follow PEOPLE on sites like this and not TOPICS. A chatroom or a forum are a bunch of people getting together around a topic, and it's kind of assumed it's public discussion about that topic and you can take..
