Metapod + Gust of Wind
These are my two entries to @tcgnewdeckplus.bsky.social, a Pokemon TCG Gameboy Color mod! I've always loved this game (and soundtrack 😩👌) and have played many different versions of it. So cool to fire up the pixel art and make these buggies!

This is rad! The phone in Cold Call made me think so much of the lead-up to Drawcia Sorceress in Canvas Curse >:)

A snapshot of the Portland Retro Gaming Expo show floor - PIGSquad's booth has purple-clothed tables backed by purple PIGSquad walls. Numerous monitors, TVs, laptops, and table dressings are arranged on the tables, sharing multiple different games with expo goers playing on controllers and keyboards. Developers of the games sit behind the booths to chat with attendees and other devs. Backed by purple PIGSquad walls, volunteers pose for the camera, one holding a big pink light-up CubePig. Some volunteers are masked, some are not. Everyone is wearing 2023's blue PRGE lanyard.

Here's a pic of my Stardew Valley painting I submitted as a prize for the upcoming Frame Fatales marathon!
I painted it on a recycled cupboard and installed a cute lil glass knob and wall hanging hardware and everything!
Photo of a country style oak cupboard that is painted in the center and around the border with colorful fruits and veggies and animals from Stardew valley. There's a green glass knob installed on the cupboard.

There's still time to jam out something great 😍
Game developers in Portland/PIGSquad playing games and using Wacom tablets at a past showcase. We would host many events at the Wacom Experience Center in NW Portland when it was still open, and it was a great event space with nice lighting, cool furniture, and tablets galore! Developers in the photo are wearing kn95 masks. A photo of an office desktop. The new Wacom Cintiq 16 drawing tablet is in the center. A hand is drawing a smiling character inspired by a morning star. The desk is adorned with a multi-pastel-colored keyboard, anime desk mat, coffee cup with a cat, and various colored cups holding pens and plants. The Wacom logo is in the corner if the image.

There's LOTS of cool stuff surrounding this game jam too... (see replies)
The Summer Slow Jams "Parody" banner, featuring knock-off characters from popular games. A burst of characters are running out from a TV screen on a rainbow path, as CubePig and Jamwolf look on. Characters include a "Cloud Strife" with a very long sword, strangely shaped tetromino, a semicolon item block, flying milk saucer, "Socker" walking on a ball, long mushroom man in a vest, crowned turtle with faucets on its shoulders, fighting character with tie around his head, and "Jet Set Radio" painter on a scooter. The console running these games is a "Pigtendo Super Indiecom" with a "1000-in-1" cart plugged in.

Our Peabody speech for 1000xRESIST.

“This art form is barely unearthed. It’s too early to define it. Fund the indescribable.”
On behalf of sunset visitor, Nhi and I want to thank the Peabody board for this huge honor.

We put so much into this game, what we wanted to see ourselves.

We yearned for stories of the Asian diaspora to be allowed imagination. For diversity to include diversity of form. For our stories to contain risk and experimentation. As people of colour and artists, we wanted to see our whole selves represented – and for this not to be sanitized or erased to appease soft power or timid tastes.

We didn’t know if we’d have another chance. For people like us, sometimes we only get one chance.

I want to say to the game industry, resource those on the margins and seek difference. Take chances again and again. This art form is barely unearthed. It’s too early to define it. Fund the indescribable.

Always be moving, transforming. Be water.

Thank you and hekki grace. Remy and Nhi backstage at the Peabody Awards. Behind them, a sign says “quiet please.”
