At this point, anything that irritates them out of pure pettiness is something i simply must support 100% lol

Specific species, Smoothe Purple coneflower is high on the list at the moment. As is Northern Sea oats, and Purple Top(tridens flavus). If you're familiar with #Piedmont Prairies or just tall-grass Prairies at all, what are some "Iconic " species perhaps recognizable by silhouette alone? 🤔

Colorblind was when it comes to blending 💀 😅

I am not full-on colorblind, or the more common Red/Green colorblind - I am Blue/Green colorblind... so, recognizing most colors isnt an issue, but recognizing really close shades, definitely is. Blues/purples/blacks - greys/greens/browns all kind of

But I wanted to do a few paintings I could sell to help raise $ for the GardenWild Community Nursery. I really enjoy painting nature silhouettes, fence post & old barbed wire against the sunset, windmill and barn against the sunrise , stuff like that... but i had forgotten how frustrating being ...

I think spicata is the one. Has multiple small tufts of purple instead of the long stalks of more "common" variety found in stores. I have photos but have to find a program to convert them to regular jpegs apparently, not sure what exactly they are (format) but can't upload anywhere despite all
February 5, 2026 at 12:10 AM
Oh the kobold will dongreat/exactly what you're looking for anyway. (Also not sure on spelling but scabiosa isn100% NOT it/autocorrect lol) Liatris Spicata maybe? Idk ultimately irrelevant lol

Format apparently that are useless to add to amy social media app ..

And gets maybe 2.5-3' tall, growing in full clay and partial sun (surprisingly) ... but never flops!

I guess ... not knowing exact species, this comment is pretty worthless lol but , there are variations that persist even theough the winter after going dormant in long straight spikes.

I have some liatris i collected and have been growing from an area thatd now a housing development, i thought it wad spicata but tbh im reallt awful at IDing w/o an app lol but the blooms are so small. And there are multiple blooms at the end of each stalk maybe ~1" or more. It definitely not kobold

If we plant native plants like sedges, and give them something to actually grow on, just maybe - we wont have to wonder and speculate how many we lost, because we will always still have them around.

If we could just shift how we even VIEW our yards, that land, and what it is capable of/ its purpose... if we leave the leaves each fall instead of bagging in plastic coffins and sending to the landfill, if we turn off our lights at night to prevent the disruption to nocturnal wildlife,

But in terms of their fight for survival, faced with clearly declining numbers, we wont even know how many we lost when they ARE all gone... if they all , go.

but it would be SO EASY to create viable critical habitat for them, with just minimal intentional changes to how we maintain our yards
