Specific species, Smoothe Purple coneflower is high on the list at the moment. As is Northern Sea oats, and Purple Top(tridens flavus). If you're familiar with #Piedmont Prairies or just tall-grass Prairies at all, what are some "Iconic " species perhaps recognizable by silhouette alone? 🤔

Been trying to "brush up" on my painting ( 🥁 ba dun tsss) - I am definitely not a painter/artist, but atleast "barely made it through an art course" level, its just been 10yrs ir so since pulling out the easel...lol

Late July in the GardenWild garden means-Lobelia Blooms 😍Two of my absolute favorite Virginia natives are putting on their late-summer show: the fiery Cardinal Flower (Lobelia cardinalis) and the cool Great Blue Lobelia (Lobelia siphilitica).
