If universities want to use AI, one good task would be to automatically populate a university ethics application form from the original grant application. That would save a lot of time. Also considering that the forms are not written for historians. #AI #academichistory #universities

While so-called “patriots” are arguing for the BBC to pay billions to Trump, I think that if any such sums are to flow overseas for reparation, they should help the Caribbean build resilience in the face of climate change.

Who at the ABC wrote, then approved, the words "ceasefire will hold" over an image of Palestinian bodies? Also, how much deference should the media give to Trump given his government continues to provide bombs to kill Palestinians?

Why did The Australian use an image of Imane Khelif, a cis woman of colour, in a transphobic headline about banning trans women in sport? Imane was assigned female at birth and identifies as a woman. Paired with the use of the word "men", this headline is irresponsible, misleading and offensive.

A very good question.

The thing that always amazes me is that conservative rural electorates in Australia, are all against doing anything on climate change. Their livelihoods will suffer most.

When are people gonna stop using the term “ late stage capitalism”? I’m 45 years old and I can remember it being used for all of my adult life. And arguably Lenin’s “highest stage of capitalism” phrase articulated the same sentiment. Maybe latest stage of capitalism would be more appropriate.
The fact that 30% of our stock market is wrapped up in “help-kids-kill-themselves” technology seems to be an important datapoint in the evolution of late stage capitalism.
